Notes From the Emerging Future

An exercise for connecting to what you most long for, finding your unique path, and building the capacity to live into future of your dreams.

At the End of a Cycle

The end of the year, the equinox, the solistice, the end of a quarter—these can all be an auspicious and meaningful times to pause, reflect, and celebrate. This guide can help, whenever you feel called to do so.

Building a Relationship with Change

Developing a healthy relationship to change is essential, both personally and professionally, to stay connected to ourselves while adjusting creatively to changing conditions.

eBook: How Great Leaders Coach

I wrote this eBook after working with hundreds of leaders to turn difficult conversations into an opportunity to deepen trust and increase ownership with people on their team.

This isn’t so much a framework about what to say, but how to show up relationally with both yourself and the people around you. It's about being present, believing in the capacity of others, and letting go of having all the answers.

Leadership Fluency Webinar & Workbook

This 60-minute webinar introduces the Leadership Fluency framework and gives you a sense of what the work entails.

Covering the distinctions between four fundamental leadership roles (leading, directing, managing, and coaching) and walking you through a diagnostic process for reading what situations actually need, you’ll learn how to move from “this feels kind of unclear” to identifying specific intervention points and choosing your response consciously rather than defaulting to habit.

The webinar includes a downloadable workbook with the diagnostic template, framework reference materials, and practical next steps for building your leadership fluency.

Talks

This is probably the most personal talk I've ever given, emerging from a disorienting and challenging time in my career—a moment Warren Bennis refers to as a “leadership crucible”. Though the talk is from 2017 I find it contains, in one form or another, many of core themes that have informed my work as both a leader and a coach.

This talk explores several themes: 1) the relationship between being strategic and being connected, 2) when a leader should step into their power as a decision maker and when to invite more connectedness, and 3) how to see the two as mutually interrelated. When both are skillfully deployed, teams generate trust, unlock creativity, and drive outcomes.
